Mediclinic Worcester, surrounded by majestic mountains, is situated in the heart of the Breede River Valley, the largest wine and brandy-producing region in South Africa and serves local residents and visitors to Worcester, including Robertson, Bonnievale, De Doorns, Montagu, Swellendam, McGregor, Ceres and Villiersdorp. Worcester lies on the main route to and from Cape Town, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth.

Visiting hours

In the interest of our patients, please adhere to visiting hours. Visitors are limited to four per patient at a time in a ward and two per patient at a time in ICU.

General visiting hours:

10:30 – 11:00, 15:00 – 16:00, 19:15 – 20:00

Specialised nursing units

Emergency centre

The 24-hr emergency centre is constantly manned by a professional, multidisciplinary team who are trained in life-saving techniques and supported by state of the art technology. Seriously-ill patients will be treated immediately.

Intensive/highcare unit

The unit is equipped with advanced technology and equipment and trained staff capable of providing critically ill patients with the necessary medical treatment. A central monitoring system ensures that patients’ vital signs are monitored at all times.

Neonatal intensive care unit

The neonatal ICU, situated in the obstetrics unit, provides a life-preserving facility to babies who are underweight at birth, or seriously ill. The unit is staffed with highly qualified and dedicated paediatricians and nursing personnel who provide constant specialist treatment and care.
